How Is Urothelial Carcinoma Diagnosed?

Doctors might use several methods to diagnose this cancer:

  • Urine Tests/Urinalysis: To check for blood and other substances.
  • Cystoscopy: A thin tube with a lens is inserted through the urethra to examine the bladder.
  • Transurethral Resection: A tool is used through the urethra to take tissue samples for biopsy.
  • CT Urogram: A CT scan with iodine dye to check the urinary tract.
  • MRI: Used if CT scans aren’t an option due to allergies or kidney issues.
