What Are Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS)?

Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) are a group of diverse bone marrow disorders in which the bone marrow does not produce enough healthy blood cells. This leads to the production of defective blood cells that can result in anemia, infection, or bleeding. MDS can vary in severity, and in some cases, it can progress to acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
