MS is highly variable:
- Some individuals experience mild symptoms with little disability.
- Others may have a progressive form leading to increased disability over time.
- Most people with MS have episodes of symptoms (relapses) followed by periods of recovery (remissions).
- MS is rarely fatal, and most people have a normal life expectancy.
