Treatment options for ITP depends on the severity of the condition and the patient’s symptoms. They may include corticosteroids to reduce immune system activity ,immunoglobulins to increase platelet count temporarily and in some cases ,medications that stimulate platelet production or suppress the immune system .In severe cases splenectomy may be considered.
