What Are the Types of Axial Spondyloarthritis (axSpA)?

There are two types of axSpA:

  • Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS): Also called radiographic axSpA because the damage can be seen on X-rays, especially in the sacroiliac joints and spine.

  • Non-Radiographic AxSpA (nr-axSpA): This type doesn’t show clear damage on X-rays but might show up on MRIs.
