Adult ALL is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. The bone marrow normally produces healthy blood cells, but in ALL, it makes too many abnormal lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell). These abnormal lymphocytes crowd out the healthy blood cells, leading to infections, anemia, and easy bleeding.
