What Is Atrial Fibrillation?

Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) is an irregular and often rapid heart rhythm that occurs when the upper chambers of the heart (atria) beat out of sync with the lower chambers (ventricles). This irregularity can cause poor blood flow, leading to symptoms like palpitations, shortness of breath, and fatigue. AFib can increase the risk of stroke, heart failure, and other heart-related complications.
