Hereditary hemochromatosis is a blood disorder that causes the body to absorb too much iron from the food taken. Iron is a mineral found in many foods. But too much iron is toxic to the body. Too much iron gets stored in the body’s tissues and organs causing iron overload. It may damage the tissues and organs also. Too much iron in the heart, liver, pancreas and pituitary can cause severe health issues.
