Osteopetrosis, also known as “marble bone disease,” is a rare genetic disorder characterized by the abnormal hardening and thickening of bones. This condition occurs due to impaired bone resorption, where osteoclasts (cells that break down bone) do not function properly, leading to the accumulation of bone tissue and overly dense bones.
