The primary treatment for this condition is plasma exchange therapy called as plasmapheresis, which removes the patient’s plasma to provide functional ADAMTS13 enzyme. Immunosuppressive medications are often used to reduce the production of inhibitory antibodies in acquired TTP. In cases of inherited TTP, plasma infusion is necessary.
