Urothelial carcinoma, also known as transitional cell carcinoma, is the most common type of bladder cancer. It starts in the urothelial cells that line the bladder, urethra, ureters, and other related organs. These cells, called transitional cells, can stretch and change shape to accommodate the bladder filling and emptying.
