Nickel is the most common metal allergen, followed by cobalt and chromium. These metals are often found in jewelry, watches, clothing accessories (such as buttons, and zippers), eyeglass frames, and metal tools. Other metals and alloys, such as gold, silver, and stainless steel, may also contain trace amounts of allergenic metals and trigger allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.
