Who Is at Risk for Sudden Cardiac Arrest (Sca)?

The risk factors for developing sudden cardiac arrest are when a person

  • Have coronary artery disease (CAD).
  • Has a high age.
  • Have other conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart failure or chronic kidney failure.
  • Have a previous history of arrhythmias.
  • Have a family history of SCA or inherited disorders that cause arrhythmia.
  • Have a problem with drug or alcohol use.
  • Have had a previous history of heart attack or heart failure.
